Served as acting Sergeant 4716 Royal Pay Corps before being commissioned into The Royal Warwickshire Regiment.
The Imperial War Museum's Lives Of The great War state that: On the 11th March,1919,While convalescing from wounds received at La Bassee, William Pegg was out in a trap with another man when they were hit by the wheels of a swooping plane, a terrible accident.
