War Diary 219 Coy Machine Gun Corps: of 14th "September, 1917 Nieuport.
Sub-section on Anti-Aircraft duty relieved by subsection of 14 M.G.Coy. Relief completed by 5 p.m.
5.a.m.Gun positions shelled heavily and two men wounded, one of whom subsequently died. No. 85714 Morvan distinguished himself by going alone three times through the hostile barrage to obtain and in helping the wounded back. To do this it was necessary to pass along a narrow strip of land about 3 yards wide. For his conduct on this occasion he subsequently was awarded the Military Medal."
He was discharged no longer physically fit on 14/08/1918, and awarded the silver discharge badge
He was subject to a "Release of Soldier for Shipbuilding" order and worked at Brooke Boats Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, and lived at St .Peters Road, Lowestoft.
He died in 1972
