Charles Walter Edwards was born on Poringland, Norwich around 1857.He attested for The 31st Brigade at Gt Yarmouth depot on 30th April,1880, having previously served with the East Norfolk Militia.He was transferred to the 1/9th on 4th December, 1880.He served in India from 30th December, 1880 until 18th March 1882, the rest of his service was at home,He was discharged on 30th April, 1903.He was living 112 Churchill Road, Norwich when he died,(date not recorded)
