Albert Edward Francis was born in West Bergholt, Colchester around 1880.He attested for The Norfolk Regiment on 20th April, 1892,He served in India, South Africa and at home. He completed two Mounted Infantry courses and was awarded his Long Service Medal in 1910 and was discharged in 1914.On discharge he was living at 67, Cowgate Street Norwich and worked as a Chauffeur.
Francis the attested for the Army Service Corps in December 1915 as number M2 021177.He was awarded a 1914/15 Star trio, and the Meritorious Service Medal(London Gazette 3rd June 1919-M2/021177 Sjt. Francis A.E.324th Coy Norwich)
In later life he worked as a Lorry Driver.
Comes with a huge "wad" of copied papers including two sets of Attestation papers, London Gazette, etc, etc
