Correctly named in running script.
Medal very fine or better, on original ribbon. Suspension a little twisted and a small area has been filed on the edge of the medal and the naming has been engraved over it, indicating that the medal was filed before being named, the "J" and "A" of Jackson being engraved over the filed area. This medal is NOT one of the re-engraved medals often seen with the Chin Hills clasp to the Norfolk Regiment. The
Chin Hills and Kachin Hills clasps were not issued until 1903/4 and the medal office/mint were using up old stocks of the I.G.S. '54-this may account for the file marks as they would have to re-use named and defective medals to complete the order.
Confirmed on roll, and scarce to the Regiment, only approx 200 issued
