Named to: 4878 PTE.J.COWIE. 5/LCRS ( correct engraved naming) Good very fine with one edge bruise.
Comes with copied medal rolls which show additional entitlement to the Cape Colony clasp, which is shown on a supplementary roll.
The 5th Lancers are famous for the charge at Elandslaagte on 21st November, 1899 which has been immortalised by the painting by Richard Caton Woodville II
