Major Gerald Edgar Oliver Fortescue Lambart, 1st Bn., Royal Scots Fusiliers died of wounds on 28th March 1916 aged 30.
The Son of Brig-Gen E Lambart, C.B. and Geraldine Stirling Stuart, his wife, of 18, Mulberry Walk, Chelsea, London; also served with the 19th Royal Hussars.
He is buried at the Lissenthoek Military Cemetery.

Geraldine,, dau. of Capt.James Stirling-Stuart of Castle Milk, Rutherglen; born Dublin 30th November 1885; educ. Laleham (Mr Frank Buckland) ; Eton, and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst: gazetted 2nd Lieut.19th Hussars 28th January 1905; promoted Lieut 20th 1907, and Capt.2nd September,1912; was employed with the West African Frontier Force from 25th May,1910; took part in the attack on the German Cameroons until he was invalided home in Dec.1914; served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from May, 1915; volunteered for the Infantry in Aug., and transferred to the Royal Scots Fusiliers , in which regiment his paternal uncle, the late Major F.R.H. Lambart had served in the Zulu and Boer Wars.
He was promoted Major March, 1916, and died in hospital near Poperinghe 28th March,1916, from wounds received in action near St.Eloi the previous day.Buried in Lilienhoek Military Cemetery neat Poperinghe.
M.I.C. states service with 2nd Nigeria Regt.
