Private John Joseph Shearman SR10398 "H" Coy.3rd Bn., Norfolk Regiment, of 40,Milton Road, Romford, died on 2nd November, 1917, and is buried in Romford Cemetery.
John Joseph Shearman was born in Hornchurch, Essex in 1871.He enlisted in the Norfolk Regiment on 5th July 1888.He served in India and South Africa, where he was slightly wounded at Karee on 29th March,1900.He was invalided to England on 1st May,1900 and was discharged in 1901.
He re-enlisted for service in WW1 and died in 1917 aged 46, as the result of an accident on the rifle range at Felixstowe Ferry, Suffolk.
