Ezekiel Williamson was born in the parish of Trinity,Coventry in 1806 He enlisted in the 9th Regiment on 4th December 1823, underage.
He served in The West Indies and Mauritius,and the East Indies.He served for 21 years,205 days,and was discharged on 26th June 1846,suffering from general debility and a constitution worn out by service and climate.He married Catherine Buckley on 15th February 1837 in Chinsurah,Bengal.
