Medals about very fine, and gilded, on original faded and tatty ribbon.
George Valentine Love was born in 1879. and was commissioned into the 1st Volunteer Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regt on June 25th 1900.Captain G.V. Dove, 3rd Volunteer Battalion, was granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant in the Army whilst serving with the Volunteer Company in South Africa 25th March 1902.He was entitled to a 2 clasp Queens South Africa Medal (copy of roll included with lot)
He joined the Reserve of Officers in WW1 and he arrived in France on 07/09/1914 and is entitled to the clasp and roses. He is also entitled to the Silver discharge badge, number 365538
He lived at Tolethorpe Hall, Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Dove died in 1949.
