Pte John Simpson enlisted in the Lincolnshire Regiment in 1907.He is on a 2nd Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment Regimental Orders list of Troops placed under order for India embarking December 1908.
He arrived in France on 05/11/1914.
He was reported wounded on 21st March 1915 -Gunshot wound knee joint, admitted to hospital on 05/04/1915, and discharged from hospital on 02/06/1915.He was finally discharged from the Army on 20/09/1918, having served with the 2nd 2/5th and 6th Battalions.
